Homeschool Library Builder – Review

***This site no longer exists – see sidebar for more resources***

Homeschool Library Builder is “a Christian family-run book business dedicated to providing great literature at affordable prices”. Their website offers books for sale for as low as $.75 US!  Here you can find anything from Classics such as “A Christmas Carol” to Usborne books to curricula such as Ambleside and Sonlight.  Browsing through the site you’ll find that most books cost under $10 with many offerings under $5!

But there is more – sign up for their monthly newsletter on their website and receive not only the monthly specials, but all sorts of wonderful homeschool website links and resources!

And…if you happen to be a homeschooler who produces their own homeschooling product, the HSLB Marketplace is for you.  Homeschool Library Builder actually helps you market your item FREE of charge.  They provide a link on their website – all you provide is a copy of your product to HSLB, agree to provide a 10% discount to purchasers, and they request that you provide a link to HSLB on your website.  These homeschool products are showcased in the monthly newsletters, which means recipients of the newsletters find out about terrific new resources as well.

HSLB accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Paypal.  Shipping information can be found by clicking on “terms of service”.  Shipments to Canada of up to $25.00 are quoted at a cost of $13.75 and the prices go up from there.  So, for we Canadians to order just one book would not be feasible.  However, if you found 5 books you want for $5 or less each, the shipping cost of $13.75 would definitely be worth it!  I have spoken with HSLB and they state that the actual shipping costs usually turn out to be much lower than these quoted rates 🙂  Delivery can be expected to take 6-10 days.
