What’s going on in Cape Breton for children and families during the March Break?


Centre For Craft & Design March Break Camps

Kids ‘N’ Crafts – 9am to noon March 15-18 – Ages 7-11 – Tuition $75:  Work in a variety of media making inventive projects from visual art to papercraft to polymer clay to instrument making.  Every day a brand new project including pizza box guitars, paper pop-up cards and spinners, fimo photo frames, St. Patrick’s Day Surprise, drawing and painting, etc.  Tuition fee includes most supplies.

Kids ‘N’ Clay March 15-19 – 9am to noon Ages 8-10; 1-4pm Ages 11-16 – Tuition $90: Students will work on slabs that may include plates/saucers, bowls, cups, wall hangings.  Students can select their projects and choose from a variety of coloured slips, underglazes and glazes to work with.  If time permits, students can try their hand at making pots using the hand-building techniques of pinch and coil.  Work will be kiln fired and ready for pick up within two weeks. Tuition fee includes clay, glazes, tools, and firing.  Students should wear old clothes and bring an apron.

Harry Potter Day Camp

Recommended for children 8-12 years of age.
1 child: $25/day or $100/week
2 children: $40/day or $175/week
The camp will run from 9:30 to 3:30. Children may be dropped off anytime after 8:30 and must be picked up by 4:30. The Candy Trolley will be open at lunch and snack time.

March Break Activities at Two Rivers Wildlife Park
1 km Wildlife Trail & Petting Zoo open daily 10 am – 4 pm.

Wagon Rides Daily 1-3 pm $2/ person

Canteen Services 1-3 pm upstairs in Admin. Bldg. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Beverages


Albert Bridge Community Winter Carnival March 12-20th

ACAP Cape Breton Day Camp
March 15-19 – 9am-noon

ACAP’s Centre for Sustainable Communities, 582 George St., Sydney.

Participants will have lots of fun while learning how to make eco-conscious choices towards a greener future!

Day Camps March 15 – 19, 2010
Discover Skiing or Snowboarding, for kids aged 6 and up.

9:30am to 2:30pm. $55 per day or $100 for two days or 3 days for $135. Lunch is unsupervised – lift & rental not included ~ One day lift is $12, one day rentals $12.

Day Camp 11am-4pm Daily; for 5-12 year olds
