A Musical Magical Halloween Walk

Enjoy a candle lit MAGICAL walk through the forest filled with enchanting spirits on October 28th. The walks/tours start at 6:00 and end at 7:45.
Bonfire, warm drinks and other children’s activities.
Inspired by Mexico’s ‘All Souls Day’ this event is a great alternative to the gore and horror often associated with Halloween.

$2 per person
$5 per family
Food and beverages are extra.

Creative Action Video Improv Workshop Apr 9 @ South Shore Waldorf

Kimberly Smith achieved his Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University in 1981. He worked for a short time as an actor then got hooked on telling stories with motion pictures. He began his apprenticeship in 1986 and was granted membership in the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) in 1988. He worked as a freelancer in a wide variety of crew positions through the nineties in Nova Scotia and helped found The Atlantic District Council of the DGC. He founded Creative Action Digital Video in Kings County, Nova Scotia in 1997, and has been helping ordinary people tell their stories with video ever since.

Kimberly, a Friend of the South Shore Waldorf School, developed this successful process with Dr. Michael Corbett in Acadia University’s Department of Education teaching his method to almost forty second year Education students over two terms.

Directions to the School: SSWS is located at 64 School Road in Blockhouse. Take Exit 11 off Highway 103. Turn towards Lunenburg. After the overpass over the highway, turn right on School Road. Follow the road for approximately 500 m. The schoolhouse is on the left, at the corner of Parish Road.

“Speeking” of Puppets – Puppet Show at South Shore Waldorf tomorrow Jan 22

The South Shore Waldorf School holds a weekly Winter Farmer’s Market, every Saturday.  Tomorrow it features a Puppet Show AND a 13-year-old singer/songwriter.

Puppet Show: “The Little Lost Fox”
A live puppet show will be performed at 11 am this Saturday, January 22, during story time at the Winter Farmer’s Market at the South Shore Waldorf School in Blockhouse.  A heart-warming story of a little lost fox on a snowy night and the kindness of a stranger.

Young Singer-Songwriter to Perform at Winter Farmer’s Market
A young singer-songwriter will perform at the Waldorf Winter Farmer’s Market in Blockhouse, tomorrow, Saturday, January 22 at 11:30 am.  Thirteen year-old Katherine Heim is proof that youth is no barrier to true talent.  Her accomplishments include performances with the Halifax summer opera workshop, Maritime Concert Opera, South Shore players, Chester Playhouse, Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival and Lunenburg Sessions.   Katherine’s participation in the Lunenburg Music Festival has earned her awards for Outstanding Musical Theatre, Best Junior Performer and Top Folk Performer.  Katherine loves being on stage and hopes to pursue a career in Musical Theatre.
