With artist Margarita Fainshtein. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves using a wide range of art materials and techniques including exploration of drawing, printmaking, collage, and painting on various surfaces.
Clay Animal Extravaganza!

With artist Bethany Riordan-Butterworth. Using clay, students will create a variety of animal forms. Projects will include sculpture, small scale and large-scale work, as well as collaborative work. *Please note that this class is sculpture-based and does not use the pottery wheel.

March Break Activities at Two Rivers Wildlife Park
Canteen open everyday
Free Wagon Rides daily from 1-3pm
And of course all the animals will be happy to see you as you walk through the 1km wildlife trail, or stop down the petting zoo.

The 12th Annual Albert Bridge Winter Carnival
Proceeds go to the Albert Bridge Community Fire Truck Fund and the Atlantic Burn Camp.
Donations of food items will also be accepted on behalf of the District 1 Food Bank at all events.
Friday March 9th – Opening Parade at 6:30pm at the fire hall.
Bring a flashlight. Hot dogs, cake and hot chocolate will follow. There will be a kids dance downstairs for children 12 years and under with music by Bobby Burke. Admission to the kids dance is a food bank donation. Munchies provided. Saturday March 10th – Pancake Breakfast at Riverside School from 8:30am to 11:30am. Admission is $5.00 per person. Tickets available from Committee Members or at the door.
– Dance will take place at the Fire Hall at 9pm, admission is a donation at the door.
Monday March 12th
– Coasting and Animal visit to Hanson’s Farm on Trout Brook Road at 12 noon.
Hot dogs and hot chocolate. Admission is a food donation.
– Bonfire will take place from 5pm to 7pm at the fire hall.
Tuesday March 12th – 2pm to 4pm Seniors Social at the Albert Bridge Fire Hall with the Inspirational Singers. Tea and sandwiches and sweets. Admission is a monetary donation at the door.

The YMCA of Cape Breton is holding March Break activities from Monday March 12th to Friday March 16th with a fabulous week of activity and creativity. Children will enjoy games, create works of art and meet new friends. Activities will be age specific from 8:30am to 4:30pm. A single day for members is $25.00 per child and non-members $30.00. March 10: March Break Junior Chess Tournament – Alderney Gate Library

Pre-registration has started for the March Break Junior Chess Tournament on Saturday, March 10th at the Alderney Gate Library.  This is a popular free tournament with prizes and medals for the winners in the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced sections.  Places are limited so reserve yours now by phoning Library Youth Services at 490-5748.

Important: Even after you have registered you must be in attendance between 9 am and 9:30 am to get your registration package.  Then you must exit the Library and re-enter at 10am when the library opens.
